JACQUES x BLOVSKI
A week ago (march 2017), live on the Facebook account of the New York web radio The Lot Radio, the DJ, producer and big sick Jacques improvised The Lot of Jacques (you have entered the pun), a live of 8 hours non-stop that would lead, small feat, to the instant creation of an entire album ... A performance that eventually leads to a relatively standard format album (the final mix has only kept 57 minutes, and not the whole of what some have been able to watch live), and which, to reinforce further the interaction with the already large fan base, of the surrealist producer (let's risk the term), also asked the most inventive Internet users to propose an artwork to illustrate this concept album.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE
And the winner of this great contest—Olivier Baraona—undoubtedly had the most straightforward idea and, finally, the most obvious. Because the cliché he proposed is simply a pile of chestnut hair spread over the floor tiles (those originally on his skull?). It is an obvious evocation of Jacques's unusual cut and his tonsure electro monk. Undoubtedly, he would not even find a cover as effective as this one. Give the floor to others? Bright idea.
THE MUSICAL ART
Eight hours of live recording, hours of editing and mixing in the process, and finally, an hour of micro-house, sometimes warm, sometimes distant, always perched, and a remarkable performance led by one of the most talented and adventurous French producers of his generation. Glory to Jacques.
